Whale Responsible For Trainers Death

Well Sea Worlds killer whale has lived up to its name yesterday, after dragging a trainer into its pool and drowning her. According to CNN, the whales name is Tillikum and is 11,000 pounds and is 22 feet long. The accident occurred after a show at Sea World, when the trainer was just hanging out petting and hugging the whale. Witnesses said they saw the whale grab her by the waist and drag her underwater and pushed and played with her until she drowned. The trainer was 40 year old Dawn Brancheau, one of the most experienced trainers. Apparently this is not the first accident that Tillikum has been responsible for, back in 1999 a 27 year old man hid in the park until after it closed then jumped in the tank with the whale. Tillikum, not being used to having people in its tank. thought he was a toy and played with him until he drowned.

*I just hope that they do not destroy the whale because of this, its not the whales fault. Someone scooped him out of the ocean and put him in captivity. They gave him a little tank and taught him to dance for a crowd, not typical behavior for a whale in the wild. Then they wonder why bad things happen when they play around with wild animals.
