How To Save $$ On Your Phone Bill

Are your shocked or unhappy with your phone bill when you open it? Do you often rack up extra fees for overages? Here are some tips on how you can save some extra money on your phone bills.

Do you have a cell phone and a land line? If so you may want to consider dropping the land line and just use your cell phone to place local and long distance calls. The downfall; if you need to call 911. 911 can track your location from a land line a lot faster than cell numbers.

You may also want to consider dropping your land line to a basic package; no long distance, and few options. This package can cost as little as $15 a month and still allows calls to 911.

Internet phone options; Services like Magicjack, Vonage, and Skype allow you to make your calls using your computers modem for prices ranging from $2.95 to $25.00 a month. However some of these companies allow advertising to pop-up on your computer.

Re-evaluate your cell phone plan; look at how many minutes, texts, and pics you use in a month. You may be able to downsize to a more affordable plan. However if you are always going over in minutes or texts, the cost of a bigger plan may be cheaper than your overage fees.
