$100,000 Name Change Offer- An April Fools Joke.

As some of you may have heard yesterday, the President of Texas Motor Speedway offered a Dallas DJ $100,000 if for 1 year he would change his name to texasmotorspeedway.com and get a TMS tattoo. The DJ was given 24 hours to make his decision, which would make today decision day. Well it tuns out that long time prankster and President of TMS, Eddie Gossage, came forward today to say April Fools! The offer was just a hoax, and a reminder to have skepticism in the media.

Palin Gets Reality TV Show Competition From Grandbaby Daddy

Levi Johnston is on the road in his RV/party bus pitching his idea for a new reality show featuring him. According to Radar Online the name of the show is "Levi Johnston's Last Frontier". Apparently to storyline of the show will be following Levi around as he is out playing on his snowmobile, spending time with family, and meetin' the ladies.
I think this is Levi's way of trying to steal Sarah Palins thunder as she is about to start her new show that will air on TLC called 'Sarah Palin's Alaska".

"The Hills" Finally Done!

The MTV show that put Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt in the spotlight is calling it quits. In an announcement through usmagazine.com The Hills will being starting their final season on April 27th. After ratings dropped 30% last year, most of the cast wanted off. The final season is supposed to be focused around Heidi's surgery.... If that is their idea of a hot topic to end the series run, I say thank goodness it will be over!

Is Jesse James The New Tiger Woods?

According to people.com another woman has come forward saying she had an affair with Jesse James. Her name is Mellisa Smith and she claims they hooked up after they met on myspace back in 2006. Smith lives in Huntington Beach California, not far from where James and Bullock live. She says they would get together every few months, but hasn't seen him since 2009.
I guess at this point anyone could come forward to make claims against James, will we see him following in the foot steps of Tiger Woods? Will he too be going of to rehab for a bit just to make a big comeback? We'll see.

Lady Gaga has a new music video out for her song 'Telephone'. The music video is 9 minutes long, if that is not crazy enough, the amount of advertising that she does in it is unbelievable. Heigl Leaves 'Greys"

Well the rumors are true, katherine Heigl announced she will be leaving the show "Grey's Anatomy" before her contract ends. In an interview with Entertainment weekly she said she was done and her January 21st episode was her last. Heigl has been a part of the series since its start 6 seasons ago. She says that her reason for leaving is to spend more time with her family. After the adoption of her little girl she doesn't want to work full time. This won't be the last that we see Heigl though, she is already cast in some big movies for the near future.

Fall River Mass, former dentist Michael Clair is being charged with a laundry list of offenses. He is accused of using chunks of paperclips in root canals instead of the correct stainless steel posts, then billing medicaid for the supplies he was supposed to use. Ferrari Introduces New Roller Coaster

If you want to take a ride on the fastest roller coaster you need to pack your bags and head to Abu Dhabi, that is the home of the new Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Amusement Park. One of the two coasters that will be the main attractions boasts to be the worlds fastest coaster, going up to 125 mph and simulates the feeling of driving a Ferrari F1 race car. The other ride is called the GT Roller Coaster. It is a "racing coaster, which will send two two competing roller coaster carriages sprinting along twisting parallel tracks on a race to the finish line", said Ferrari in a statement. " Each coaster car is a replica of a Ferrari F430 Spider."
The park will be the home of 20 rides which will open later this year.

Lady Gaga's Bad Romance With Ex Could Cost Millions

Fashion forward pop/dance artist Lady Gaga is being sued by her ex-boyfriend/producer for $30.5 Million. Rob Fusari filed the lawsuit on Wednesday saying he hasn't been compensated for his work that he did to get Lady Gaga her start. He says he is responsible for her stage name "Lady Gaga" (a change from her real name Stefani Germanotta) he also says he has co-producing credit for her first album 'The Fame' and songwriting credits for a couple of her songs.
Sounds like he may be the inspiration for Gaga's new song 'Bad Romance'.

Bullock and James Headed To Splitsville?

Actress Sandra Bullock and motorcycle builder Jesse James may be on the fast track to the big 'D'. Rumors came to light that while Bullock was away filming "The Blind Side" James was messin' around with another woman. On Monday Sandra moved out of their California home. In Touch Magazine brought the "other woman" into the picture by interviewing her. Her name is Michelle "Bombshell" Mcgee. She is a model that grew up Amish, then moved away to start her new life in southern California. James has now issued an apology to Bullock and their children through Access Hollywood, but would not go into any detail on which rumors were true or false.

In a recent interview with Parade, Miley Cyrus admits that she does not like country music and will not pursue it. She says that country music scares her. I find this to be a very bold statement being her dad and her got their start in country music, and have made quit a bit of money from her country music.

Lady Gaga has signed on to make an appearance on the TV show Glee. The producers asked if she would be interested, and Gaga was very excited to be a part of it. Shamrock Shortage For St. Patty's Day

Ireland is in the middle of a crisis...they have a shamrock shortage! The shamrock, a clover plant is the iconic symbol for St. Patricks Day did not survive well through the winter. The shamrock crop in Ireland was hit by severe winter weather that is making the plant in short supply for this year. There is also a shortage of land for the clovers to grow on because the meadowland that they are found on has been overtaken by farmland.
To make it through the holiday, they will be using bogus shamrocks. Basically there are other species of clover that looks like the shamrock.

Kate Winslet Splits From Husband

Titanic star Kate Winslet and director husband Sam Mendes have revealed to usmagazine.com that they have split and will divorce. They said their decision to split was both of their ideas, and everything is very amicable. The both still intend to be very active in their children's life, Joe their son who is 8 years old, Kate also has another child from a previous marriage.

Annoying reality 'star' Heidi Montag has just been cast in her first real acting role. She will be in Adam Sandler's upcoming comedy called 'Just Go With It', it is a romantic comedy that has an all-star cast which includes Sandler, Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman. On her Twitter page Montag said she "This is one of the best days of my life!! Getting ice cream to celebrate."

'Friends' Star Engaged

David Schwimmer, more commonly known as Ross from the TV show 'Friends' has just announced his engagement. He told Entertainment Weekly that he will be marrying photographer Zoe Buckman. Schwimmer 43, and Buckman 24 have been dating since 2007. Even though Ross's character had been married many times, in real life this will be the first time down the isle for Schwimmer and his fiance.

During fashion week in Paris a new trend is taking the runway. We are all so used to seeing those death-warmed-over skeleton thin models stomping down the catwalk, maybe not for much longer! Designers are trying to change the stereotype of models by introducing 2 new bodies to the runway... These models just happen to be Victoria Secret models. So whats the difference? Umm have you seen a Victoria Secret Model?... hello curves! Curves that is something that typical models don't have.
This new look comes after fashion shows instituted rules requiring models to eat before they step onto the runway. More designers are also finally starting to cast all kinds of body types, ages, and ethnicity.

In an attempt to revive his acting career Tom Cruise has a new movie opening this summer. It is an action-romance called 'Knight and Day', where he is paired up with Cameron Diaz. However he wants his debut to be huge and No. 1 in the theaters so what is he doing to try and make that happen? Film maker Fox has just moved the premier date so that it would not be premiering the same time as 'The Twilight Saga; Eclipse'. He feels he can't compete with that film, smart move. Look for this movie at the end of June.

Well it finally happened, a gaming console has stepped up to compete with the Nintendo Wii. Playstation 3 just announced their newest gadget... it is called the Playstation Move. It is very similar to the Wii controlers, these are called "wand controllers" and they require the use of the Playstation Eye Camera. Sony's Senior VP of Marketing says the PS Move is "fast, precise, and accurate." He also says the Move is the next step for Wii users that want to move up to a high-def experience.

There is no exact price set yet, but they are saying that a starter pack featuring 1 wand, and the Eye Camera, and 1 game should cost less than $100, and is set to hit the shelves in the fall.

2 More Quakes Shake Chile Today

According to the Associated Press, earlier this morning two more earthquakes shook Santiago, the capital of Chile. The quakes measured 5.1 and 7.2 magnitude, they rocked buildings and rattled windows. This all happened as dignitaries were arriving for the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect Sebastian Pinera.

Mississippi High School Cancels Prom

Itawamba High School in Jackson, Mississippi has cancelled its high school prom for this year citing "Distractions to the educational process caused by recent events.'' Well what are these recent events that can cause such distraction as to cancel the high school prom? Well it turns out that 18 year old Constance McMillin is the one who has caused this suppposed distraction. Word got out that McMillin was planning on bringing her lesbian girlfriend as her date (dressed in tuxedo) to the prom. The school board jumped all over this saying it was against school policy, the policy states that prom dates must be of opposite sex. McMillin says that the policy violates her constitutional rights. Now she is the target of retaliation among the other students for being the reason the dance was canceled. The only hope the kids have of getting their Junior/Senior prom is if someone hosts it privately.

National unemployment is very high, approximately a 9.7% unemployment rate, meaning 1 in 10 people are out of a job. Even though the job market it tight right now according to Investopedia there are 6 career fields that are looking for employees.

1) Health Care; the industry has created 280,000 jobs in the last 13 months and continues to grow. The industry is looking for physician office , practitioner office, and home health care employees.
2) Federal Government (excluding US Post Office); Last months employment went up by 15,000 jobs, with large portion going towards helping with the US Census. Outlook is very good in the near future for employment as many older employees are scheduled to retire soon.
3) Social Assistance; Created 82,000 jobs in the last 13 months. This field includes family, community, food, housing, and emergency services.
4) Employment Services; Provides human resources to businesses. While most jobs are temporary, it can be a stepping stone to full time. This service has produces 44,000 jobs in the last month.
5) Education Services; This field has created 179,000 positions in the last year.
6) Computer Systems Design & Services. This field does require special skills, but has created 8,000 jobs in the last year. It is also on the list of the top 10 fastest growing careers in the US.

NASCAR Steps In On Carl Edwards

After the scary retaliation crash between Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski last weekend, NASCAR has stepped in with consequences for the wreck. NASCAR has put Carl Edwards on a three race suspension, which will include the race at Bristol, Martinsville and Arizona Motor Speedway. On top of the probation, NASCAR also wants to clear the air between Carl and Brad, so a meeting has been scheduled to include NASCAR officials, team owners, and the two drivers. NASCAR President Mike Helton said, "We want to get this matter resolved between the two drivers, clean the slate, if you will, so that they can both go back to some hard, competitive, side-by-side racing that is NASCAR."

Actor Corey Haim Has Died

According to OMG by Yahoo; earlier this morning 80's actor Corey Haim passed away at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank California, at age 39. Haim shared an apartment with his mother, and she called the paramedics this morning when he collapsed. His mother said he had been feeling ill with flu like symptoms for the last few days, but when he got up out of bed this morning he felt weak and fell to his knees. Authorities found four prescriptions in his apartment but nothing illegal.
Corey Haim was an actor from the 80's, some of his movies include 'Firstborn', 'Lucas', 'Dream a Little Dream', and most popular, 'Lost Boys'.

Chase Credit Takes Away Then Gives Back

78 year old Ernest Nitzberg was surprised to open his credit card statement from Chase.. this was a brand new credit card that he applied for but hadn't even received yet. The statement said he owed $6200 for charges he racked up in one day. Obviously since he hadn't even received his card, how could he spend the money? Nitzberg says that "Someone from Chase, or a friend of someone from Chase-- There's no other way to explain it-- had gotten hold of my never-received debit card and all my personal information including my PIN and went on a spree."
When he contacted Chase to get his money back they said they would do an investigation. After the investigation they said he would not be getting his money back because they believe that he could have made the charges (which included 3 trips to Toys-R-us and Saks 5th Ave). Frustrated, Nitzberg told his story to huffpost.com which made its way back Chase.
Only once the bad publicity hit did Chase decide to credit back his money.

Earthquake Moves City 10 Feet!

On February 27th the 5th largest earthquake shook the South American country of Chile. The quake was 8.8 magnitude and caused many deaths, lots of damage, and a city to be moved. Scientists have been studying the earthquake and calculating measurements and have found that the city of Concepcion Chile has geographically moved 10 feet to the west. Scientists along with GPS systems are able to take measurements after a quake and compare them to before and figure out the results of the earths movement.
The earthquake also effected other areas of South America;
Buenos Aires the capital of Argentina (on the other side of the continent) moved 1 inch to the west. Chiles capital, Santiago moved about 11 inches west-southwest.

That is crazy that the ground can move that much!

How To Be Happier

According to Self Magazine you can make yourself happier just by adjusting your thoughts, and there are 4 tips to help you achieve that.
Tips to happiness..
1) Too much of a good thing is bad. Basically it is nice to be the person that is there to help everyone else, but sometimes you can give too much and deplete your own well being. Don't wear yourself too thin.
2)Now is the moment, Enjoy it. To put it simply, The destination is great but make sure you slow down and enjoy the journey. Slow down and take pleasure in the little things each day.
3)Find your 'mouse hole'. No matter how much of a people person you are, everyone needs some moments alone each day to recharge.
4)Conflict can be ok. We have all had a friend or coworker mad at us of the other way around, remember how hard it is to confront that person? Then remember how good you felt after you made up? Making up is good healing for happiness.

Lohan Sues E-Trade For Calling Her a "Milkaholic"

This is ridiculous! Lindsay Lohan is suing the finance company E-Trade for $100 million, she claims that they used her name in their latest commercial and she is insulted. Remember back to the Super Bowl commercials and the new E-Trade ad with the talking babies? Well in the commercial the little boy was apologizing to his girlfriend for not calling her, the girl responds, "and that milkaholic Lindsay wasn't over". Well Lohan saw that commercial and thinks they are making fun of her. Lohans lawyer said, "Many celebrities are known only by one name, and E-Trade is using that knowledge to profit." she also said, "Everybody is talking about it and saying its Lindsay Lohan."

* Now really how desperate are you to sue a company for using a name in their commercial that just happens to be the same are yours (and 30 million other peoples). Maybe Lohan feels threatened because maybe she had her own issues with alcohol and the comparison to being a "milkaholic" hits to close to home... What do you think?*

Can A Magnet Scramble Your Credit Card?

We have all heard the rumors that a magnet can deactivate the strip on your credit card, making it unusable. So the folks at creditcards.com put this rumor to the test. They took three different credit cards with three different magnets and exposed them to each other. They used a refrigerator magnet, a mid-strength magnet, and a high powered junkyard magnet. They swiped the magnets across each then tested them in a credit card machine. Of the three tests only one card was deactivated... to most peoples surprise only the card exposed to the mid-weight magnet didn't work. Why did it only happen to one? Well it turns out that it is not the power of the magnet your card comes in contact with, but the length of exposure. As it turns out they redid the test and all three cards were deactivated when the length of time exposed was extended.
Just something to think about the next time your hanging out with your credit card at a junkyard or thinking of purchasing a magnetic money clip.

Kurt Busch Wins The Kobalt Tools 500

Putting aside the controvery of the big crash someone did win the NASCAR race yesterday. Kurt Busch won his 2nd consecutive spring race at Atlanta, he made his big move during the green-white-checkered restart.
Racing action continues of March 21st from Bristol Motor Speedway for the Food City 500.

Carl Edwards Dirty Spin Out

What an exciting day for NASCAR fan yesterday during the Kobalt Tools 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. After quite a few lead changes and caution flags the race was progessing like usual... until cars started flipping. Carrying on with a long time feud between Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski, things came to a crashing halt when Edwards cut up on Keselowski at 195 MPH, sending him into a very dangerous flip resulting in him crashing upside down onto the outside barricade then landing right side up. The crash was actually very scary and could have ended in a very bad way, fortunately Brad walked away unharmed. Instantly fans were throwing accusations that Edwards did it on purpose. Responding via facebook Edwards confirmed that he did do it on purposed. He basically said that yes it was payback for all the times Brad spun him out, but he did not intend on it resulting in a flip.

As it is getting closer to the new season of 'Dancing With the Stars' it is only fitting for Kate to get a makeover.. but it is not for her, its for her house. Yesterday TMZ photogs caught workers carrying in building supplies to the Gosselin home. She is having a dance floor built into her basement so she can still be home watching the kids while shakin it.

The folks from TMZ caught Tiger practicing his golf game yesterday. They got the first unstaged photos of Tiger since his little 'situation' occurred. He was practicing with two other guys on a golf course by his home in Isleworth all day... he was constantly working on his game from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
I guess this just reinforces what TMZ reported earlier, that Tiger will be back on his to compete in the Tavistock Cup which is a tournament held right there on that same course.

Nintendo Wii Losing Popularity

Where you one of those people who waited in line or on a waiting list to get your hands on a Nintendo Wii over the last couple of years? I have to admit that I was one who did too, I just had to have one, and now that I do I hardly use it. Nintendo Wii has been the reigning popular gaming console in comparison to Playstation 3 and XBox 360. The gaming industry is now predicting that Wii's popularity is coming to an end. With low sales ending 2010 it appears more people are turning to the other consoles. Nintendo says it does not have any plans in the near future to release a Wii 2.

Big Wave Kills Two, Injures 14 On Cruise Ship

Yesterday a cruise ship that was taking vacationers on a cruise around the Mediterranean ran into some really bad weather. Passengers said the weather was bad when they left Cartagena on Wednesday and that the captain said they would skip Barcelona and head straight to Italy. While en route the weather kicked up then all of a sudden a 33 foot wall of water crashed into the Louis Majesty. It hit the front of the ship shattering the windows on deck 10, where people were hanging out, then two more waves hit the boat. A lot of water came inside, there was also shattered glass and damage to many rooms. Two people died and 14 more were injured. The ship docked in Barcelona where they will be flying passengers home. The ship will be docked and repaired so it can sail again by the end of the month. While bad weather is not unheard of in the Mediterranean, huge waves like these only occur a couple times a year.

Porsche Creates The Fastest Hybrid Concept Car

Just released from Porsche the 918 Spyder, the fasted hybrid/electric sports car. Who would have thought electric could be fast....Get this... this car can reach 100 mph in just 3.2 SECONDS!!! It also has a top speed of 198 MPH!
But how green is it? When driven properly it can reach 78 miles per gallon and only releases 70 grams of CO2 per kilometer.
What exactly powers this speed machine? The Spyder runs a 3.4 liter V8 and can rev up to 9200 rpms. It gets it extra power from electric motors on the front and rear axles which boosts it up another 218 horse.
The driver has the option of choosing to run the car on gasoline, electric or battery power depending on the driving conditions.

I have no idea what this car costs but I'm sure you can only imagine. You'll have to spend alot of green to be green with this car, but hey it makes hybrids look cool.

Miley Cyrus is trying to break her kid star stereotype by taking a role in a love story. She has taken the lead in the movie called 'The Last Song'. No more Hannah Montana wigs and sing-alongs, she has an adult role which involves a relationship. Ironically enough, the actor that plays her boyfriend in the movie is also her boyfriend in real life. 19 year old Liam Hemsworth from Australia is also making his movie debut, they met on the set of this movie. 'The Last Song' will be out in theaters on March 31st.

GM Gets Bit By The Recall Bug

General Motors has just announced that they have issued a recall for some of their compact car models, this recall is set to affect about 1.3 million vehicles in the US, Mexico and Canada. The recall affects the following models.

05-10 Chevy Cobalts

07-10 Pontiac G5's

05-06 Pursuits (Canada)

05-06 Pontiac G4's (Mexico)

The recall is not as serious as the recent Toyota scare. GM's recall is because of the power steering pumps, they have found that over time they fail. If the pump fails it will not cause any danger, but the driver will notice that the vehicle becomes harder to turn the steering wheel under 15 MPH. Drivers will also see a warning light and hear a chime to let you know of what is going on.

Kendra Take Baby To Meet Hugh Hefner

Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett took her little baby boy, Hank Baskett IV, for his first visit to the Playboy mansion on Monday. Kendra tweeted, "Goin over to the mansion to meet HughHefner. Little Hank gets to meet him today, so excited." Little Hank was born on December 11, 2009, which she said was 'a wonderful Christmas present'. Kendra says that he is getting so big, that she has already has him wearing size 6-9 month clothing. I have a feeling that he is going to be one of the luckiest, most cultured kids... what a lifestyle he is going to learn :)

She's Baaaaack!

The rumors are true, Kate Gosselin is back. Not with her own reality show, but she will be on the 9th season of 'Dancing With The Stars'. For those of you that are worried about her neglecting her children while practicing and performing on the show... relax, she has made special accommodations with producers of the show so she can practice near her home in Pennsylvania. Producers were ok with this because she is a big name that will draw viewers. They say that she is not doing this for her own fame but to provide for her family after ex-husband, John, wasted most of the families money with law suits involving the channel TLC. Check out the new season of DWTS, it premiers on March 22nd.

Debate Continues Over Fate Of Killer Whale

About a week after the accident involving SeaWorld, the killer Whale Tilly, and death of his trainer, there is now debate over what should happen to the whale. Animal activists are fighting to have Tilly released into the wild or at least to a large pen in the ocean (similar to the one used for the whale from Free Willy). This debate has started the campaign 'Free Tilly', and both sides are weighing in on the subject. Animal right people want him released, while SeaWorld officials are saying that Tilly can't survive in the wild. Tilly has spent three years in captivity and doesn't know how to hunt and act like a killer whale. His immune system is not strong enough to handle the bacteria and other dangers found in the ocean. SeaWorld says that Tilly will stay a part of the family at Seaworld. This weekend marked the reopening of the killer whale show at SeaWorld, they paid tribute to the fallen trainer, Tilly did not perform.

Jimmie Johnson Makes It Two In A Row

Yesterday was another NASCAR Sprint Cup race from Las Vegas Motor Speedway, it was the Shelby American 400. After a tight battle for many laps with teammate Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson slipped ahead to take the lead and the checkered for the second week in a row. This makes it his 4th win at Las Vegas and 2nd win of the 2010 season. Some people as starting to wonder about Johnson, why he is so good? and some are even starting to get bored with NASCAR if the same person always wins. What do you think, are you a fan or not?
