This Weekend Kicked Off Winter Olympics
Opening ceremonies were on Friday night for the 2010 Winter Olympics from Vancouver Canada. Only one minor flaw with the torch lighting portion, just three of the four towers stood up to form the main torch, the fourth was stuck under the stadium floor. If that is the worst thing that happened, I'd say opening ceremonies were a success. The weekend was filled with skiing, and jumping, and skating, and lugeing. Some of the women's skiing events had to be postponed due to rain, melting snow, and fog. Those events will be held later this week. The highlight of the weekend... Apollo Ohno won the silver medal is speed skating, it was totally awesome to watch. It was his third Winter Olympics, he is only 27 years old, and now has 6 Olympic medals, enough to tie Bonnie Blair for the most medals received.
