Deadliest Catch Captain Phil Harris Dies

At age 53 Captain Phil Harris from the Discovery Channels hit reality show 'The Deadliest Catch' has passed away. According to the Associated Press the captain of the Cornelia Marie suffered a major stroke on January 29th while at St Paul Island, Alaska. On the website for the Cornelia Marie, the family made comments that on Saturday he was improving by talking to friends and family and showing progress. As of right now no other information is available.

*I'm sad from this news, I love that show and Captain Phil was my favorite. Here is some background. 'The Deadliest Catch" has filmed for 5 seasons now, showing the lifestyle of crab fishing in the Bearing Sea off of Alaska. If you remember 2 seasons ago we were introduced to Captain Phil's health problems when a huge storm tossed their boat around the sea. Phil was thrown from his bed and thought when he hit the dresser in his room that he had cracked some ribs. We later discovered that the chain smoking, Red Bull guzzling captain had suffered a blood clot from his leg traveled through his heart and into his lungs. He almost died. *

Now two years later his kids made the statement, "It is with great sadness we say goodbye to our dad- Captain Phil Harris. Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end."
