With memories of the big Toyota recalls not that far behind us GM has now issued a recall that affects 1.5 million vehicles from the model years 2006 to 2009. The recall is for the heated windshield washer system. They have found instances where that feature has caused fires inside the vehicle. This is the 2nd recall for this problem, as the first attempt did not eliminate the hazard. The recall affects cars, trucks, suv's and cross over vehicles. So what is GM's solution to the problem, they are going to unplug the module that controls the heated windshield washer feature which will disable it.
