While I am not a movie goer, nor have I ever watched a movie in 3D, many thousands of people have gone to see Avitar and other 3D films lately. Which has raised the question, how clean are those cheesy 3D glasses that the theater gives you? While most companies make disposable glasses that are to be thrown away when done, some companies make reusable glasses. The reusable glasses are to be cleaned to the manufactorers specs which usually means theaters have to use a special or commercial dishwasher, a special detergent, and keep the water at a certain temperature. Some theaters don't have to follow that procedure, high end theaters like some found in Hollywood hire someone to hand wash the glasses. And some other theaters don't clean them at all they just provide a disinficting wipe with each pair.
Who would have thought so much went into seeing a movie in eye popping display? But it does give you something to think about the next time you head to the movies, 'how clean are my glasses?'
