Scientists in China have found a use for discarded cigarette butts, they found that the chemicals in the butts can be applied to pipes to keep them from rusting. Nicotine apparently has an anti-corrosion effect. This is a huge recycling benefit for China which has 300 million smokers and 4.5 trillion cigarette butts making their way into the environment.
